Hello Seven Inc. is not a typical business because its owner and founder, Rachel Rodgers, is not a typical woman. She’s an entrepreneur who is focused on helping aspiring women discover individual financial wealth. As an author and motivational speaker, Rodgers has done it all, and she’s built a business to prove she knows what she’s doing.
Building a Business from the Bottom Up
Rodgers opened Hello Seven Inc. in 2010, and it had zero people on her mailing list and $0 in sales. Fast-forward to 2023, and Rodgers has been making several million-dollar months because of her business.
Her dedication to reaching out to female entrepreneurs and taking them under her wing has seen her IG following explode in popularity. She notes that she regularly engages with her fans. However, her business life was not without its hiccups.
Weathering the COVID Storm
Hello Seven Inc. was one of many businesses that had to adapt their attitudes when the pandemic hit. Rodgers was in danger of losing her subscribers, so she drastically decided to reduce the subscription cost.
It worked wonders, as her subscription numbers at the end of 2021 were a whopping 3000% higher. These and other business decisions helped her achieve and maintain six- and seven-figure incomes throughout her business growth.
Find Someone to Do Your Laundry
One of the things that Rodgers tells her followers to do is to get into the mindset of a leader early on. To this end, she tells them to find someone to do their laundry. It places them in a position of authority.
More than just hiring someone to give you back 10 hours of your week, a person who engages someone to do her laundry is also learning to deliver clear and concise commands. Rodgers suggests that the choice many women have to make is between folding undies and becoming financially independent.
Whatever You’re Thinking of Charging, Double The Figure
Another piece of advice she offers to the people she mentors is to multiply the amount you would initially think about charging for a book or service by two. She teaches this as one of the key concepts in developing scalability.
When you raise the price, you limit the people you work with, but you increase the quality of your clientele. The more money your business brings in, the more relaxed you are about your life. So, double what you were going to charge to make your life easier.
Focus On What You Do Well
Rodgers notes that many entrepreneurs who come to her aren’t sure how to get started. She always advises them that the best place to start is with what they do well. Just because you’re multi-talented doesn’t mean you have to offer all those talents as services.
She remembers that the times she saw the most upticks in revenue were when she either raised her prices or simplified the services she was offering. She suggests entrepreneurs who are looking at getting better clients opt for that.
Even As an Independent Person, You Need Your Friends
According to Rodgers, every entrepreneur should have a group of friends in a chat to message and laugh with. Releasing stress with laughter is essential to good mental health balance and helps to focus on the good things in life.
Moreover, having these friends will help talk you off the edge when you’re about to make bad decisions. She advises entrepreneurs to drop the small-minded people and hang out with those who are doing big things and making significant strides.
Don’t Wait Forever to Do Things
One of the most common problems many entrepreneurs have is waiting for “the right time” to do something. Rodgers suggests that there is no right time and that the best time to do anything is now.
She states that jumping before you’re ready and before you even know where you’ll land will drive you forward in ways you never thought an action could. Trust in yourself, your creativity, and your actions to work out how to best approach things.
Scrolling Your Phone Won’t Give You Money-Making Ideas
While many people think social media can be inspiring, Rodgers has other ideas. She insists that sitting in front of a computer wasting time or scrolling a phone won’t give anyone ideas for making money.
Instead, they should open their mind to other things. Change the scenery, visit a coffee shop or bookstore, and immerse yourself in something different. The same scenery creates a rut, and ruts don’t make anyone any money.
Motivate Yourself
As many entrepreneurs have realized over the years, it’s hard to find outside motivation for anything, so they must motivate themselves. Rodgers tells her followers not to say that they can’t afford something but to change that into a more positive thought pattern.
You should instead say you want that thing, and you’ll figure out how you’re going to have it. Brainstorming 20 simple ideas for bringing in some money will give you some ideas to start working on. All you need is one of those ideas to be a winner.
Get Excited About What Money Can Do For You
If you had a million dollars parked in a bank account right now, what would you do with it? Most people would sit on it and not know how to spend it, but Rodgers thinks that entrepreneurs should get comfortable with large sums like that.
She says that you should consider what you want to do with that kind of money because it’s likely to motivate you to make that kind of money. She suggests making a list of everything you’d do to have a visual record of how you’d spend that money.
Passion and Drive Can Take You Far
Rodgers has always been about helping people see who they are inside and using that to become better and more efficient businesspeople. She suggests that passion and drive are what most entrepreneurs have, but they lack the self-confidence to take the final leap and do what needs to be done. Her coaching in Hello Seven Inc. and the book We Should All Be Millionaires underline that fact.
